Welcome to the Family Little Man!!!!!

On Friday April 15,2011 Alvin and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy, William Ramon. He came into this world at 9:53 pm, weighing in at 7lbs 3oz. The story of his delivery starts the day before. I showed up to my doc. appointment at maternal fetal medicine at 4:00pm. At the end of the visit a nurse took my blood pressure and it was 192/111. She looked at me with her eyes as big as saucers. She told me that it was way to high and took it again. The numbers were nearly the same. She immediately got on the phone and called the doctor that was on call. I was immediately escorted to labor and delivery. I sent Alvin a text telling him to make it to the hospital and to bring my hospital bag. He showed up and we were in the observation room for four hours. The on call doctor ordered blood tests and felt comfortable enough to send me home on bed rest and informed me that I had an appointment at 9:00am with my OB, Doctor Winward. We showed up at Winward's office at 9:00am. Sure enough my blood pressure was threw the roof. Since this was my first pregnancy and I was 37 weeks pregnant my cervix was not yet ripe and dilated. Dr. Winward had a nurse escort us to the Labor and Delivery section of the hospital. This time we hung out in a delivery room instead of the observation room. She came in and started the induction process with little pills, she was pretty sure that the process was going to take a while and I'd be having the baby Saturday morning. At about 9:00 pm I told Alvin to go home and get some rest, my mom and sister were still visiting when he took off. At about 9:30 pm a couple of nurses showed up informing me that Dr. Winward had ordered a C-section. I immediatly called Alvin and informed him to rush back to the hospital, We live in La Verkin and that's about 35 min. away. Luckily he was in Hurricane visiting his mom which is about 20 min away from St. George. Dr. Winward then burst into my room and informed me that she had been monitoring my blood pressure and contractions from her home. She did not feel comfortable with the numbers, she had officially diagnosed me with preeclampsia, and felt a C-Section was the way to go. Then she looked around and asked "Where is your husband?" I informed her that I had shipped him off and that he was on his way back. She assured me that she wouldn't get started until he was there. I had crazy magnesium medication pumped into me to lower my blood pressure. I was then rushed to the OR ,put on a table and was numbed waist down. Alvin came running in with a space suit on. I felt so much better and less scared when he was there with me. He came in and held my hand we were staring into each others eyes with so much emotion. A blue curtain was put up, I felt pressure and then we heard crying. I heard Dr. Winward comment on all of his hair, I also heard a nurse state that he had such a pretty face. It was so surreal. I remember seeing a little purple baby with tons of hair being rushed out of the room to be cleaned, our little William was here. When Alvin introduced William to his grandmothers and Aunt Natalia there was not a dry eye in that room. He is such a precious little baby and we love him so much. It's been hard covering the night shift with feedings but I try to look at it as bonding time. My blood pressure is still a bit high, William and I were in the hospital for 5 days trying to get that blood pressure under control. Hopefully the blood pressure situation will get better soon. My love for Alvin has grown to such a deeper level. he has been such a wonderful and loving man towards our baby boy. We are officially a family and I'm the luckiest girl in the world with my two boys.
